In huge news for the Marijuana and Cannabis industries, our neighbor to the north passed final legislation to legalize recreational use of marijuana.
Canada’s Senate passed bill C-45, which decriminalized marijuana across the Country.

In a subsequent statement, Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau indicated that the law would likely go into full force and effect in October of this year.
Canada is the first G-20 Country worldwide to legalize marijuana use for all citizens, though they won’t be the last.

While Michigan and the United States still cannot engage in cross border trade with Canada for cannabis goods, because marijuana possession is still legal in the United States, should it become legal here in the United States, Michigan’s growing medical marijuana industry would be in a prime position to capitalize economically from cross-border trade.
